The Nation’s Capital felt the wrath of fear last week to its core.
When a lone gunman unleashed shots at soldiers guarding the War Memorial and within the halls of Parliament.
In the end, two people were dead.
And the city felt different.
When Corporal Nathan Cirillo lost his life at the feet of Canada’s best known monument – the Cenotaph.
The people came.
To help, as he lay wounded.
Then to mourn.
I took my two youngest boys to lay flowers at the foot of that monument.
On Sunday, October 26, 2014.
This is what I saw.
